Practice separating triggers from long-term causes, causes from effects, and background context from mechanisms across the full course.

This assessment deliberately moves across the course rather than rewarding memorization of one unit. Read the stimulus first, identify the historical relationship being tested, and then use specific evidence to eliminate distractors that are chronologically possible but analytically weak.

Build a causal chain instead of a fact pile

For every miss, separate background conditions, immediate triggers, mechanisms, and effects. Then decide which factor mattered most for the outcome named in the question. AP-style causation is strongest when you can explain why one cause had greater reach, timing, or leverage than another rather than simply listing several causes.

For each missed question, record the evidence you overlooked, the reasoning move the question demanded, and why the strongest distractor was tempting but wrong. Keep those corrections in the floating NOTES tool so your next practice session begins with your actual weaknesses rather than a generic review list.
